Geschiedenis

REstore est une boutique qui propose des produits réalisés selon les processus propres au slow design et à l´upcycling. Aux antipodes de la production industrielle, chaque pièce est conçue en fonction du matériau et dans le respect de l´environnement, ce qui confère un caractère unique à chaque réalisation. Les créations se font à base de déchets industriels et d’encombrants ménagers, ancrant la démarche dans un processus de récupération et d´intégration du tissus d´acteurs locaux. Les objets de récupération peuvent facilement être revalorisés par des pièces complémentaires fabriquées avec les divers outils issus des nouvelles technologies. Dès lors, le matériau de récupération peut être réinterprété en un nouvel objet de design. REstore exploite également les techniques anciennes, tel que l´aérogommage, combinées aux nouveaux outils technologiques pour créer un design moderne.
La démarche entière de la boutique s´ancre dans une conception sociale et locale du design. Les créations sont pensées en fonction d´un processus global de récupération et de revalorisation, du matériau de base en passant par la technique employée et jusqu´à la forme finale.

REStore is a boutique that offers various products built with the processes attached to slow design and upcycling. At the opposite of industrial production, each piece is conceived according to the base material and with respect for the environment, which confers a unique character to each making. Creations are based on industrial waste and old domestic appliances, anchoring the initiative into a recycling process that integrates local actors. REstore exhibits pieces that adapt the theme of slow design into several proposals. The recycled objects can easily be revalidated by complementary pieces built with various tools from the new technologies. From then on, the recovery material can be reinterpreted into a new design object. REstore also exploits ancient techniques, such as air sanding combined with new technologies to create a modern design object. The entire approach of the store is anchored in a social and local conception of design. All the creations are thought in regard of the global process of recycling and revalidation, from the basis material, going on to the employed technique, and ending up at its final form
