Geschiedenis

Pinguin is an open exhibiting space showing experimental works based on the medium of photography. It is an independent project by Ilan Weiss and Sybren Vanoverberghe, with the purpose to show young local artists whose work is in a transitional phase between the experiment and the final outcome.

Our point of interest is how an artist uses photographic images and manipulates them on a visual level, in order to strengthen a particular subject or object. The focus of the works is laid upon the visual aspect of the photograph, this bringing together different aesthetics and approaches to the medium.
