A FGE é unha entidade creada co fin de promover todas as accións que propicien o achegamento entre Galicia e Europa, vinculada á Dirección Xeral de Relacións Exteriores e coa UE da Xunta de Galicia.

Geschiedenis

A Fundación Galicia Europa (FGE) é unha entidade sen ánimo de lucro creada en 1988 co fin de promover todas as accións que propicien o achegamento entre Galicia e Europa. Participada por diversas entidades públicas e privadas galegas, a Fundación está vinculada funcionalmente á Dirección Xeral de Relacións Exteriores e coa EU, da Consellería de Presidencia, Administracións Públicas e Xustiza da Xunta de Galicia.

Conta con dúas oficinas: unha en Santiago de Compostela e outra en Bruxelas, formando parte esta última das preto de 300 representacións rexionais establecidas na capital comunitaria.

Ao longo do seus máis de 20 anos de historia, o traballo da FGE tense materializado en catro grandes ámbitos de acción que responden aos seguintes obxectivos

1. Defender os intereses de Galicia perante a UE
2. Informar sobre a Unión Europea en Galicia
3. Formar e sensibilizar sobre Europa en Galicia
4. Promover a participación galega en proxectos europeos

Fundación Galicia Europa is a private, non-profit-making institution created to promote all the actions that favour a closer relationship between Galicia and Europe. It was established in 1988, and it is made up of several public and private Galician entities. It is open to collaboration with all the institutions representing the economic and social Galician life and pursuing the same aims.

Since its creation, the directorship of Fundación Galicia Europa has been functionally linked to the Xunta de Galicia. Nowadays, the department of the regional administration in charge of Fundación Galicia Europa has been the General Directory of Foreign Affairs and EU Relations from the Regional Ministry of Presidency, Civil Service and Justice of the Galician Government. The Galician President is the Director of the Fundación and the General Director of External Affairs is the Managing Director. The reason of this bond is to achieve a better coordination of all the European related actions undertaken by the different Galician sectors.
