WHO WE ARE :
They used to be a time when Record label were the pinnacle of power in the music business with imposing budget allowing artist to produce and spread their music, but it seems like these days are long gone. With the advance of new technologies, tools and platforms came new model for artists development – artists are capable these days of ably recording their own masters without a huge financial outlay, the banking services of a label are no longer essential either.
What became key today is the importance of capable managers (team) behind an artist. As a fact, modern music management now includes many of the former duties of a record label, like marketing and promotion, as part of its core offering to an artist.
Dimitri Borrey, longtime manager of artist Stromae and Vangarde managing director describe his ambition and vision behind Vangarde:
“My desire through Vangarde is to help artists expand outside the music space as they develop their own brands, building equity and additional assets. To make sure that if the music stops tomorrow, they’ll still have those outlets to live on.
I want Vangarde to position artists, brand them, keep them visible. We will strive to achieve that through sponsorship deals, partnerships and other opportunities for diversification in order to maximise earnings, because the reality for artists nowadays doesn’t always lay in a multimillion-selling album.”
