These Things Take Time is a non-profit interdisciplinary art initiative and exhibition space in the center of Ghent founded in 2012 by Matthias Yzebaert in collaboration with Godart Bakkers, Laura Herman and Charlotte Van Buylaere.

These Things Take Time centers its activities around the work of emerging and established artists as well as collaborations with private and public organizations to engage with a shared set of questions and themes. Our aim is to foster a wide public by operating in a broad, cross-disciplinary cultural field, while at the same time leaving room for experiment and artistic agency.

These Things Take Time emphasizes the importance of exploring the physical possibilities of the exhibition space, as well as the experiential and performative aspects of space.

Since 2012, These Things Take Time has organized a dozen exhibitions, involving over a hundred artists and organizations from diverse disciplines like Kunstencentrum Vooruit, timelab, School of Arts (KASK), MER Publishers and The Big Draw.

These Things Take Time is een non-profit, interdisciplinair kunstenplatform en tentoonstellingsruimte gevestigd in het centrum van Gent, opgericht in 2012 door Matthias Yzebaert in samenwerking met Godart Bakkers, Laura Herman en Charlotte Van Buylaere.

These Things Take Time organiseert haar activiteiten rond het werk van zowel opkomende als gevestigde kunstenaars en door samenwerkingen aan te gaan met private en publieke organisaties, waarbij steeds gedeelde vraagstukken en thema’s verkend worden. Door te opereren in een multidisciplinair cultureel veld wil These Things Take Time een breed publiek aanspreken, zonder daarbij ruimte voor experiment en artistieke daadkracht uit het oog te verliezen.

These Things Take Time benadrukt niet alleen de mogelijkheden van de fysieke tentoonstellingsruimte, maar stelt ook de beleving en het performatieve aspect van de expositie centraal.

Sinds 2012 organiseerde These Things Take Time een vijftiental exposities met meer dan honderd kunstenaars. Daarnaast zijn er samenwerkingen aangegaan met organisaties uit Gent zoals Kunstencentrum Vooruit, timelab, School of Arts (KASK), MER Publishers en The Big Draw.
