Our overarching goal is to prevent toxic end-of-life ships from being broken apart on South Asian beaches, an unsafe and polluting practice.

Geschiedenis

The NGO Shipbreaking Platform is a coalition of environmental, human rights, and labour rights organisations working on the shipbreaking issue.

This global platform includes NGOs based in the largest shipbreaking countries, India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. The Platform is now also recognised at the Basel Convention and the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) as the preeminent international NGO advocacy organisation on this critical subject.
