Geschiedenis

It is no longer possible to imagine a world without photography. The digitally connected age brings with it an entirely different culture of producing and consuming photographs. We are caught in an overflow of images, and could easily lose our way in a forest of technological possibilities. Photographers are being challenged to reinvent themselves and their profession, but this new age also allows people to express themselves in inventive ways, reaching a range of audiences on a global scale. More than ever, we need visual storytellers, especially those with local perspectives, to decipher meaning from a volatile world. The goal is to support thoughtful photography/visual storytelling projects that make us reflect on our world, our ethics, beliefs and behavior, and which produce and share meaningful photo stories in inventive ways.
