External Cultural Relations
Modern diplomacy requires the development of new thinking and skills to face global challenges and changing societies. 'More Europe - external cultural relations' advocates for a new approach to external relations, based on the promotion of fundamental values, two-way dialogue, and the recognition of the role of civil society. It calls on EU Member States, civil society actors and EU institutions to work together and combine their views, pool their resources and coordinate their activities to design a new strategic approach to culture in the EU external relations.
'More Europe - external cultural relations' acts as an avant-garde on the theme, with a strong civic approach allowing flexibility and reactivity.
'More Europe - external cultural relations' is a joint initiative of the Goethe-Institut, the British Council, the Institut français and the Danish Cultural Institute, along with major European culture foundations such as the European Cultural Foundation (ECF), and - as a key liaison partner - the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC).
