In 1934 Guus and Emilie Vergnes’ small store, in Leeuwarden in The Netherlands, quickly became synonymous with exclusive needlework kits.

For decades Lanarte has held a leading position in the craft sector. In the 1970s and 80s, Guus and Emilie’s sons developed their exclusive needlework kits to be among the best in Europe.

The sale of the company to the Belgian group, Verachtert, in 2011 brought a new dynamic, creative thrust and further expansion.

Today, Lanarte launches 4 new collections per year, each inspired by the latest trends. Nearly a century of excellence and quality is only possible due to our constantly search for new challenges; this is what makes Lanarte world class.
