IUCN is the world’s oldest and largest global environmental network - with 1,300 members and 15,000 volunteer scientists in over 160 countries.
The European Regional Office is located in Brussels, often referred to as the capital of the European Union (EU).
IUCN Brussels Office represents IUCN’s interests to the EU and acts as liaison between the IUCN constituency, the EU institutions and Brussels-based partners. The Office is the focal point for EU nature policies, EU fundraising, partnerships and networking. Influencing decisions and raising awareness of nature conservation among the EU institutions are also at the core of its mandate. IUCN Brussels Office hosts staff dedicated to the above mentioned functions as well as project staff. The Brussels offices of the EUROPARC Federation and the Wildlife Conservation Society, both IUCN Members, are hosted at these premises.
