Oscar De Vos is an art connoisseur with a deep-rooted passion for modern Flemish art dating from 1880 to 1940. Galerie Oscar De Vos opened in 1968, focusing on fine art paintings, drawings and sculptures of the Latem School.
Its artists were protagonists and representatives of international art movements such as impressionism, symbolism, expressionism and surrealism. Names such as Emile Claus, George Minne, Valerius de Saedeleer, Gustave Van de Woestyne, Gustave De Smet, Constant Permeke, Frits Van den Berghe and Leon De Smet are only a few of the master artists. Other internationally recognized Belgian artists – such as James Ensor, Théo Van Rysselberghe, Rik Wouters and Paul Delvaux – also form part of the gallery’s important collection.
Over the last fifty years, Galerie Oscar De Vos established its name as a specialized art dealer, contributing to international museum exhibitions and publications, as well as participating in international art fairs. Museums, art institutes and individuals have relied on its profound knowledge and reliability for expanding their collections.
