FEDESSA is The Federation of European Self Storage Associations
The Federation of European Self Storage Associations (FEDESSA) was formed in March 2004 to provide a European focus for the growing self storage industry throughout Europe. Its membership is open to any European National Self Storage Association (one per nation). Members of National Associations fund FEDESSA.
FEDESSA is registered in Belgium but administration formalties are carried out in the U.K.
FEDESSA provides a common voice for the industry throughout Europe. It also provides advice and support to its National Associations and Co-ordinates action when appropriate with help from its Members. .
Through its membership FEDESSA now represents over 1050 self storage facilities which equates approximately to over 70% of the self storage facilities in Europe. It is also in close contact with operators or potential operators in Austria, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Russia.
Its current membership includes the national associations of Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, The Netherlands, Czech Republic and the United Kingdom. Representatives from each national association come together twice a year as the General Council. The President is currently Mr Michael Fogelberg from the Swedish Self Storage Association. the Vice President is Christian Schmutz from 3SA - The Swiss Self Storage Association. FEDESSA's Secretary General is Mr Rodney Walker from the United Kingdom Self Storage Association.
