Info COGEN Europe is the European trade association for the promotion of cogeneration. Geschiedenis COGEN Europe is the European trade association for the promotion of cogeneration. Cogeneration makes highly efficient use of primary energy for heat and power, providing 11% of Europe's electricity and 15% of its heat today. COGEN Europe's principal goal is to work towards the wider use of cogeneration in Europe for a sustainable energy future. To achieve this goal, COGEN Europe works at EU level and with member states to develop sustainable energy policies and remove unnecessary barriers to implementation. Cogeneration is also known as combined heat and power (CHP). CHP employs 100,000 people in the EU with a strong innovation base and global exports. CHP delivers EU policy objectives competitiveness, sustainability and security of supply.
