Info Trade union organisation Geschiedenis The ETF Dockers’ Section represents the interests of European dockers and port workers from 25 countries. In order to defend and improve the social conditions of dockworkers in Europe and to influence the EU port policy, following activities are carried out: •Monitor and shape the developments of the European Ports Policy byv lobbying the European Institutions. •Set up of a European Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for Ports and thereby represent workers’ interests in this body. •Establish transnational networks to develop common strategies in order to tackle threats to workers’ social rights. •Represent the Section in international organizations and EU bodies to deliver the Section’s views on a wide range of issues. •Apply for and undertake EU co-funded projects on issues relevant to the Section. •Organize and coordinate European campaigns. •Provide members with the means to build their capacity for action.
