ECDHR seeks to foster awareness of human rights issues and promote democracy in the MENA region.

Geschiedenis
The European Centre for Democracy and Human Rights (ECDHR) is a Brussels-based NGO, working in partnership with Americans for Democracy and Human Rights in Bahrain (ADHRB), the Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR), and the Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy (BIRD). We raise awareness of human rights issues in the MENA region and the GCC countries with European media outlets and work closely with leading non-profit organizations to strengthen our advocacy efforts.

ECDHR is also involved in the work of Defenders for Medical Impartiality (DMI), an international NGO working to ensure that  noninterference with medical services during armed conflict or civil unrest is protected. We bring together human rights advocates and healthcare professionals from the Middle East and across the globe to advocate on behalf of codifying and protecting the concept of medical impartiality and to document regional violations.
