Geschiedenis
ECOPRENEUR.EU is the European Association for Sustainable Business. Environmental, economic and energy politics go beyond national borders. The European Union and its decision making structures are becoming more and more important. To an ever-increasing extent, economic policy issues are decided in Brussels – and the networks of national associations of the green economy are growing stronger.

The first steps towards ECOPRENEUR.EU were already taken in 2009 on the initiative of the national associations Grüne Wirtschaft (Austria), Entreprendre Vert (France) and UnternehmensGrün (Germany). With the now official foundation of the umbrella organization ECOPRENEUR.EU in Brussels the common goals receive a strong voice.

A strong voice for a green and sustainable economy in Europe

Since many years, the founding member organizations contribute actively to the political decision-making process in their respective countries. ECOPRENEUR.EU is the umbrella organization of entrepreneurs, unified in their acceptance of responsibility for our economy, our environment and our society. Together they set a course for sustainable economic policies.

ECOPRENEUR.EU takes a stand for a Green New Deal, for the reformation of the economy and the promotion of social innovation in companies. The focus lies on regional economic structures and small and medium-sized companies. "Ecopreneur_eu, the European Sustainable Business Federation, sets a course towards sustainable economic policies on the European level to support the economic and societal transformation across Europe and beyond. Ecopreneur_eu is a non-profit non-governmental organisation under Belgian law. The federation presently holds six member associations from different countries of the European Union. Through Ecopreneur_eu these associations strengthen the voice of sustainable business in Brussels. Under the roof of Ecopreneur over 3000 businesses are represented, mostly SMEs, that strive to deliver sustainable products and services."
