The Confluence Allstars, based in Brussels, Belgium, are a multinational cover band playing Bollywood classics and popular Indian music from all eras. A true confluence of talent across continents coming together to celebrate music.
After moving to Brussels in 2009, Rahul Venkit was informally jamming with several musicians on and off.
In early 2015, the founder of the expat group Indian Confluence, Sriman Narayana, approached Rahul with the challenge of putting together a Bollywood band to perform at the inaugural Springfest in April that year.
The rest is history. The link with Indian Confluence gave the band its name -- Confluence Allstars.
There have since been several permutations and combinations of band members. Today, the core of the group is Sylwia on violin, Rahul on guitar and Derek on bass. We've had the pleasure of playing with drummers such as Felipe Domene, Enea Guerra and Louis Gillet. Our main female vocalists are Jayanti Venkatachalam and Pooja Mishra.
We're truly a confluence. Percussionists from Chile/Belgium, Brazil/Belgium and Italy, bassist from England, violinist from Poland, guitar and vocals from India, all coming together to celebrate the universal appeal of music.
