"Frans Violet founded Brass Band Willebroek in 1979. As Cultural Ambassador of his city BBW has played many concerts and has entered contests all over Europe. They won the EBBC, for the first time, in Plymouth 1993. It was the first continental band ever to do so, led by a continental conductor!They regained the European title in 2006 and 2007 and are record holders with a win of 21 Belgian National titles in total. in 2017, Brass Band Willebroek has written another page in the history books: She's the first Belgian band who can call itself world champion for 4 years, after winning the World Music Contest 2017 in Kerkrade."
